DUNS is a 9-digit number for businesses. Provided by a company called D&B, it represents Data Universal Numbering System, identifying businesses all over the world. You can regard this number as a universal registration number. This system usually used by creditors and potential partners to see the credibility and the stability of a business. It basically creates a credit file for companies. You also need a DUNS number for state offers. The system is currently used by 265 million global businesses.
